About Me

Community Involvement

I have a philosophy that advocates each of us is responsible for doing what we can, within the time and ability we have to do it, to help better our community.  It may be simply raising good children (not simple, really), or joining a service club or church within the community, or volunteering a few hours a month for a local charity.  Whatever it is, it follows the intent to give back a little to a town that provides us all such a decent place to call home.  In the absence of children of my own, I chose the route of joining those organizations that I feel are genuine community assets.

I am currently affiliated with the following organizations in the capacity indicated:

- Boy Scouts of America (Verdugo Hills Council) - Chairman of the Advancement Committee

- Burbank Center for the Retarded (BCR) - Chairman, Board of Directors

- Salvation Army (Burbank Corps) - board member

- YMCA Finance Committee - board member

- Burbank Chamber of Commerce

- Los Angeles Live Steamers (railroad hobby club)

I served terms on both the Planning Board (2003-2006) and the Traffic & Transportation Committee (2000-2003) by appointment of the city council.

- Graduated from Leadership Burbank program in 1999.

Personal

I have resided in Burbank since 1991.  I am married to my wife, Jody, and together, we are closely monitored by our cat, Missy.

I graduated from the California State University at Northridge in 1978 with a BA in Radio-TV-Film, and happily spent the next 20 years in the radio advertising business, following an initial turn as a disc jockey in Ventura.  More recently, I have worked as a commercial real estate broker.

My hobbies generally revolve around travel, model railroading, occasional runs to Las Vegas... and a fond appreciation of jazz, wine and dining; not necessarily in that order.

I enjoy being around people; especially ones driven to pursuing new ideas, confronting new challenges and chasing their dreams.  They have a way of energizing your day.

And I value serving the greater good.  The motto of my Rotary club is "Service above Self," and that certainly resonates with me.
